Let’s start with Exploding Kittens – This game is SO. MUCH. FUN.
Inside the box you’ll find directions for the game… Even though they are very well done… If you are like me, when it comes to learning a new game (especially a card game) printed directions seem to never do the trick. So instead, check out this video:
Get it?? Now….. Watch this sample round:
You’ve exploded kittens.. On to Cards Against Humanity – A party game for horrible people.
To begin the game…. Go around the table and determine when everyone had their last poop. (Yes you read that correctly) The person who has had the most recent poop becomes the Card Czar. The Card Czar deals each player 10 white cards and stacks the black cards face down in the center of the table. Next, the Card Czar draws a black card and reads it out loud. Each player looks at their own cards and determines their best response and slides it face down to the Card Czar.
Once everyone submits their card (or cards if the black card calls for 2 responses) the Card Czar shuffles them and reads them each combination with the group! For maximum effect- make sure to reread the black card with each white card.
Finally, the Card Czar determines their favorite combo and whoever submitted it is rewarded 1 Awesome Point. (P.S.. You can record your awesome points in the awesomely recycled note pad we sent you)
After each round, a new person becomes Card Czar and everyone restores their hand back it’s 10 card glory!
If you are interested in different house rules they can add different spins to each of your game nights 🙂 Also, the Cards Against Humanity website has a “suggest a card” section where you can write in your own funny card ideas.
Last but certainly not least, your Deck of Cards – Simple yet versatile.
These are the cards that do it all. For this reason I will share with you my ‘go-to’ card game in hopes that my fellow hobbyists will use the the comment section below to share one of their favorite card games for us to learn!
Rummy is great for many reasons.. One of those reasons being that it is just as much fun playing with 2 players as it is playing with 10!
To start, deal each person seven cards and stack the remaining cards in the middle of the table. The objective of this game is to build pairs or runs (straights) out of your cards to earn as many points as possible before anyone at the table runs out of cards. Once a player runs out of cards…. The round is over and each player subtracts the cards in their hand from what they have on the table. For you visual learners out there…. Here is a video laying it all out:
Until next time….
